The KY-016 RGB LED module is designed for use in models and devices using the Arduino platform. The LED contains crystals of three colors: red, green and blue. They can glow simultaneously or separately. By controlling the brightness of each crystal, you can control the color of the LED. On the module board there is a pin connector with 4 contacts with designations.
RGB LEDs are used to indicate the operating modes of devices, backlight LCD indicators and keys. It is used in toys and complex entertainment equipment. Multi-color backlighting provides a wide scope for design solutions, which is important in advertising, for decorating clubs, concert halls and during various public events. An original effect is created when illuminating water and ice sculptures. You can supply different PWM signal values in the range from 0 to 255, which will allow you to get almost any color out of 16,000,000 possible.
